Churches & Nonprofits

Many churches, universities, smaller charities and other nonprofit organizations are unable to offer charitable planned giving programs to their supporters due to the burdensome start-up costs and ongoing administrative expenses. However, through NCF’s Charitable Partnership Program, your organization can recognize the benefits of planned giving programs without the related expenses. Your organization not only benefits from an upfront donation, but may also receive an additional remainder benefit. The program also helps your donors, alumni and members establish a legacy of charitable giving.

NCF trains and works with professional advisors identified by the nonprofit to facilitate and administer these turnkey programs. For more information, have a professional advisor from within your organization contact NCF.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will our organization receive if our donors transact a planned giving program through NCF?

As soon as a transaction is completed with National Community Foundation’s Charitable Endowment Benefit program, NCF mails a check to your organization equal to five percent (5%) of the net proceeds. For example, if a donor funds a charitable gift annuity with a $100,000 asset, NCF will issue a contract in the amount of $100,000 to the donor and a check in the amount of $5,000 to your organization.

Who is responsible for making the income payments to our donors?

National Community Foundation has been administering planned giving transactions for over ten years and would be responsible for ensuring that the payouts to donors fulfill the contractual agreement.

How can we be sure our donors’ funds are secure?

National Community Foundation recognizes that the long-term safety and security of future income streams is of utmost importance to donors and their advisors. Through Reinsurance and a Master Trust Account, NCF is committed to providing donors and their advisors with the peace of mind they need.

Why would our organization want to partner with NCF when it currently receives donations directly from our donors?

Research indicates that 90 percent of individuals’ wealth is NOT in their income, but their existing assets. Yet most fundraising and stewardship activities focus on increasing donations from donors’ income. National Community Foundation’s Charitable Endowment Benefit program enables donors to use existing assets to accomplish their financial goals while at the same time, supporting their favorite charitable organizations.
